Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown

Charting the Unknown is the first expansion for Crimson Desert, not a second game and not the Abyss chapter you already play in the base story. Pearl Abyss put it on sale on 29 October 2026 at 22:00 UTC. The Steam listing I read the same week prices the pack at $24.99 and lists a 50 GB available-space requirement. VULKK separately reports an approximately 57 GB Steam download; this is a different measurement from the store requirement.

The publisher's own feature page groups the pack into four ideas: new enemies, ocean travel with ships and diving, housing with facilities and romance, and three new storylines. A later patch note (2.04.00) names the new water as the Great Ocean of Pywel, split into an East Sea and a South Sea, with 17 islands. Game8's DLC map page repeats the 17-island count. I am not treating that island list as a coordinate atlas, because the named checklist was still being revised on the day I read it.

You do not start the pack from the title screen. After the main ending, three personal jobs appear in the journal: Beyond the Margins for Kliff, From the Ashes for Damiane, and Forged Resolve for Oongka. The ocean story, A Wider World, waits until you are past Howling Hill and have expanded the camp. Game8 adds a faction requirement, Gathered Will, that the patch note does not spell out. I am leaving both conditions on the page rather than picking one.

Mac App Store timing is the awkward part: an older DLC page said the pack would miss that store at launch, while notice 143 on 29 October said it was already listed there, with the Mac patch arriving later than the others.
